Five insights obtained from the agreements of the main Aprilia MotoGP riders of 2025.

Aprilia has secured its ‘superteam’ lineup for 2025, signing Marco Bezzecchi alongside Jorge Martin. Both riders were rivals in Moto3 and competed on satellite Ducatis last season. While Martin has shown significant improvement this year and currently leads the standings, Bezzecchi has struggled. Aprilia hopes Bezzecchi’s decline in performance can be attributed to the 2023 Ducati’s disadvantage compared to the latest specification. Team boss Massimo Rivola has expressed his belief that Bezzecchi’s true potential lies in his performances last year.

Rivola previously expressed his desire to keep Maverick Vinales on the team, but Vinales has decided to join KTM’s satellite team, Tech3, alongside Enea Bastianini. Rivola accepts Vinales’ decision and believes that the remaining races of the season will show Vinales’ fighting spirit. Aprilia quickly signed Bezzecchi as a bet for the future due to his strong performances and three victories last season. Rivola recognizes Bezzecchi’s talent, especially in wet track conditions and his ability to achieve good results on new tracks. External factors can influence performance and Rivola believes finding the right combination is crucial.

Aprilia has made impressive moves in recruiting replacement riders for next season, securing second and third place finishes in last year’s championship. Rivola attributes this success to advance planning and reading between the lines of MotoGP. Losing both factory riders next year represents a risk to Aprilia’s development focus, but test rider Lorenzo Savadori remains on board and is considered essential to the team. Savadori’s workload will increase accordingly. Rivola praises the Noale engineers for their work and expresses confidence in their abilities. However, he recognizes that their efforts will never be enough.
