Elisa Fortunato18 years old, is a student of“Majorana-Pisano” Higher Education Institute in Viale Roma in Guidonia and has just finished the fourth year of Cambridge Linguistics High School with a general average of 9.3.

The review of the online newspaper Tiburno.Tv on the scholastic excellence of the high schools of the City of Air begins with her to discover projects and dreams, trust in the merit and in the future of our adolescents and young people.

Daughter of Fabioretired, and of Emanuelateacher, Elisa lives with her parents in Borgonovoa hamlet of the Municipality of Tivoli close to Bagni.

She finished middle school with an average of 9 and even managed to improve it in high school without ever giving up her passions, artistic gymnastics as a girl and kickboxing now.

What subjects do you excel in?

Languages (English, French and Spanish) are the subjects in which I do best, in particular English in which I have top marks; Furthermore, science is also a subject that I am passionate about and in which I do very well.

To obtain similar results, how many hours do you dedicate to studying?

I usually dedicate about an hour of studying a day and sometimes even less… I believe that listening to the lesson in class saves many hours of studying at home. However, sometimes, if necessary, I spend entire afternoons studying in preparation for questions or tests.

How do you manage to balance study and social life?

As I already said, paying attention in class and participating allows me to study less at home and have more free time to dedicate to myself or to go out with my friends.

What are your hobbies and interests?

My greatest passion is trekking in the mountains, I love spending time surrounded by nature and I am also a member of the Italian Alpine Club, Viterbo section. I like to read, especially fantasy, adventure or horror books, I try to read constantly throughout the year. Finally, I love going to the cinema. I love films and also TV series and luckily I share this interest with my brother, we both love comedy, action and science fiction films. I also practice a sport, which I started six months ago, namely kickboxing. It helps me vent and not think about everything I have to do.

After the high school diploma, is there university or entry into the world of work? Which one and why?

University will most likely come after graduation, as I would like to continue studying and deepening something I like, however I still don’t have a clear idea of which path to take. For this reason, I was actually thinking of taking a gap year after high school to be able to participate in volunteer activities around Italy.

What do you dream of doing when you grow up?

I have always dreamed of constantly traveling as much as possible and visiting every part of the world, so I am looking for a job that allows me to make this dream come true, or a job that gives me the opportunity to spend a lot of time outdoors surrounded by nature. .

Is your future in Italy or abroad?

It will probably be abroad, but the university I will definitely attend is in Italy, since, for now, I don’t want to move away from my family and friends.

8 – How much does merit reward in Italy?

In my opinion not much, there must be a reason why so many people have to move from Italy to find work. Even thinking about the young people who work hard at university and then, precisely, no one is willing to offer them a job.

Once upon a time, students with a high average were called nerds and today they were called nerds. Have you ever been called that? Do you feel like a nerd and what meaning do you give to the term?

Many times my friends and family have called me a nerd for the grades I get or how much I study, and I must say that sometimes I get nervous about a lower grade than usual, but in reality I don’t consider myself as a nerd, because I know that studying is very important, but my life doesn’t just revolve around school and grades.

In your opinion, how important is studying?

Very, very much.

Studying is essential to life because it expands one’s knowledge and gives the right tools to think with one’s head; in particular today it is essential to study to combat the vast ignorance that covers this country and this world.

I recently read 1984 by George Orwell, and it made me think… ignorance, not knowing, for example the past of one’s own country, makes people manipulable, easy to control, especially by people in government, who exploit ignorance using it to their advantage, bombarding minds with continuous propaganda.

Many young people aspire to become influencers and social personalities: what is your opinion on the so-called “easiest path”?

It’s an unfair way to make a career, however I believe that social influencers or personalities are quite intelligent because they manage to exploit the exaggerated interest in them from the masses who support them and make them famous.

Their followers make them real idols, often based only on physical appearance, therefore making someone famous just because they are “beautiful”, thus fueling the sick and impossible standards of this society.

Are you present on social media? How much time do you dedicate to social media during a day and to do what?

Yes, I usually use them for a maximum of one hour a day for leisure or to comment on current affairs posts with my friends or share with them things that we both like. I don’t like sharing too much of my private life with people I barely know, but I like to post photos of beautiful landscapes taken by me or photos with my friends.

Who should you say thank you to for your excellent grades at school?

First of all I thank my parents and my brother who have always encouraged me to improve myself, but without putting too much pressure on my shoulders.

I also thank all my teachers, in particular my Italian, English and French teachers who believed in me and encouraged me to give more and overcome my shyness.
