From the afternoon of June 19th, as learned from the various newspapers, a vegetation fire occurred on the hill of Camaldoli (NA), where several teams of the Fire Brigade were involved, including one from the Fire Brigade Command. of Benevento.

Following the requests received from the Regional Fire Brigade Directorate. Campania due to the emergency situation underway in the Camaldoli area of the Municipality of Naples, the Benevento Fire Brigade Command sent a team made up of 5 VF units from the night of June 19th with subsequent rotation in the following days.

The trade union representatives of CONAPO, secretary and deputy secretary Livio Cavuoto and Alfonso Cecere respectively, thunder: “How is it possible that in such situations in which an emergency is taking place in the territory of another province, rightly for which a Regional Mobile Column form is required, unfairlyand in a completely incomprehensible way a request for reinstated personnel was not implemented, leaving the Fire Brigade headquarters. of Benevento with 7/8 units, well below the minimum rescue device and on several occasions leaving the branch office of San Marco dei Cavoti unprotected, having them serve at the Headquarters, consequently neglecting what could be urgent technical rescue in areas of the Fortore which are even 40/50 kilometers away and using the Vitulano Volunteer team on territory not under their jurisdiction”.

The two trade unionists believe that with an ongoing emergency situation and especially in a particular period such as the summer, where the probability of having to face a high number of urgent technical rescue interventions is very high, such a disastrous management is not possible, in as all this has caused not only enormous difficulties for those who have to manage the interventions of the teams in the area, but also inefficiencies in operational readiness in response to rescue interventions for the population.

The trade union representatives of the Provincial Secretariat of CO.NA.PO. of Benevento, awaiting a concrete response, with a note they asked the Manager for clarification on the management of this situation, informing the Regional Fire Brigade Director for information. of Campania, to let the Fire Brigade know what is happening. of Benevento.

Finally, in conclusion we ask, but the various mayors of the territories of the district of the branch office of San Marco dei Cavoti (Fortore), were aware of all this and that is that in these days in the event of urgent technical assistance the Fire Brigade would be had to leave from the territory of the Capodimonte district headquarters, taking up to an hour to arrive in some more distant towns?
