After over a year of forced stop, PIERO PELU’ finally returns to music and does so by announcing the release of his new album, “DESERTS”, and returning to the stage after last year’s tour was canceled due to tinnitus problems.

The DESERTS TOUR of Piero Pelù will stop on 16 August in Noto (SR), Scalinata Piazza Municipio for a date within the review The Scales of Music (promoted by Municipality of Noto and organized by Full stop in collaboration with GG Entertainment And The Box Office).

Second stage August 18th in Bagheria (Palermo). The date, moved from 17 August to 18 August (tickets purchased remain valid), on the billboard Go Green Festival to the Small Urban Parkis organized by Full stop in collaboration with Gomad Concerts and the Municipality of Bagheria. On stage Piero Pelù will be accompanied by a band of super musicians of the caliber of Giacomo Castellano “Castillo” on guitar, Luca Martelli “Mitraglia” on drums and Max Gelsi “Sigel” on bass).

In recent days Pelù had first reset his social profiles and then published a heartfelt and sincere message for all his fans:

“Hello everyone, 10 months ago I wrote to you that I had suffered a strong acoustic shock in the recording studio and that I was forced to postpone my Tour as a whole…

During this period I fought depression and only thanks to the Goddess of music I came out of it, I pulled out my nails, my teeth, spat out my soul, wrote new and very urgent things and developed other ideas that had remained closed in my boundless archive.

While I am writing to you I have finished producing this new sound journey which will reach you very soon and in many forms, in fact in this long period away from you I have taken photos and videos which I will show you as soon as possible. I really want to be back among you with these new songs that I’m particularly attached to and with the tour which will be more engaging than ever.

I missed you, see you soon Guys!”

This countdown led today to the publication of the first track of the album entitled “NOVICHOK” a song that Pelù decided to share with his fans in a very important place for him, the cellar in via De’ Bardi in Florence where Litfiba were born and took their first steps. Last night, in fact, Pelù invited a select group of fans to the cellar to take part in the event Speakeasy by Pieroan evening conceived and desired by the Tuscan singer-songwriter to reconnect with his musical roots which are still very present in him and his music.

In via De’ Bardi (where Piero had last sung at the end of 1988) Pelù closed a chapter (Litfiba said goodbye for the last time in December 2022 during the last date of the farewell tour) to start a new one : “DESERTS”.

I chose to announce the release of the new album by sharing NOVICHOK with my fans because we live in times that are constantly poisoned by fake news and hatred that is increasingly spreading from the internet to our streets – says PIERO – Novichok is the poison subtly used by Putin to kill his opponents and metaphorically it is the poison that is served to us citizens every day through contaminated foods and increasingly invasive and false propaganda.”

Musically”Novichok” is very linked to Piero’s litfibian roots and for this reason the legendary cellar in via De’ Bardi in Florence was the ideal place to present him to the very first funs (as Pelù likes to call his fans).

DESERTS” will be available in all stores from next June 7th (Epic Records/Sony Music Italy). It is the second chapter of the TRILOGY OF DISAGE, a work that began in 2020 with the publication of the album “Fragile boxers.”

The album is available from today 12 April to be pre-ordered in physical format in CD version, transparent blue vinyl and 180 gr black vinyl. The autographed CD version and transparent LP version will also be available exclusively on Amazon.

On Piero’s official website store you can purchase the cassette in a limited and numbered version.

The DESERTS TOUR by Piero Pelù is organized and produced by Friends and Partners

Piero Pelù, who throughout his career has always been on the front line supporting social, political and environmental battles, is happy to announce that for this new journey he has chosen to support EMERGENCY, the association he founded by Gino Strada and Teresa Sarti with which he had already carried out various initiatives in the past including the single “My name is never again” with Luciano Ligabue and Jovanotti who turns 25 this year.
