Who is Jay Idzes
Jay Idzes was born in Mierlo, Holland, on 2 June 2000. He grew up as a footballer in the Eindhoven youth sector, before making his first team debut in the Eerste Divisie in 2018, against Top Oss. He played with the Dutch team for three seasons and was a staple: 57 appearances for him. His performances began to attract the most important teams and the following year he was signed by Go Ahead Eagles. And it was with his eagles that his first professional goal came, against Maastricht. He achieved promotion to the Eredivisie with 33 appearances. In the Dutch top flight he made a total of 93 appearances, featuring three goals. In the summer of 2023 the call came from Venezia, which offered him a central role at the disposal of Paolo Vanoli. He will make 25 appearances for the lagoon players, with three goals to his name.
The technical characteristics
Idzes is a defender who makes flexibility one of his strong points. He can play anywhere in defense: from wingman to central defender. If necessary he can also play the role of midfielder. In this sense he is reminiscent of Adrien Tameze, who last season was forced into overtime between midfield and defence.
