The rich program of Da Margherita a Catanzaro comes to life with books, cinema, music, exhibitions and activities for all ages.

The literary section will host, among the various names of national appeal, also the author and television presenter Serena Bortone, known to the general public for the program “Che will be…” on Rai Tre, which she will present in Villa Margherita, today Saturday 22 June, at 6.30pm, his first novel “To you close so sweet”.

A story of love and friendship set in Rome at the end of the 80s, in that season of life in which feelings seem to prevail over everything, dragging us into a vortex oscillating between illusion and abrupt returns to reality.

Between complicity, betrayals, twists and traumas, the story of an era and a generation that discovers itself free and hopelessly naive. A tender and compelling novel, but also painful and full of courage, about how much we are willing to be deceived by love. A book inspired by a story actually experienced by the author in her adolescence, “in that enchanted moment veiled in insecurities, dreams, mistakes, that dark space which is the search for one’s own identity”, explains Serena Bortone.

At 7 pm, the musical selection by Pentotal will follow on the terrace of the villa. At 8.30pm the Urban trekking, organized by the Artemide Association on the theme “Among decorations and sculptures in the city”: a walk to discover the wonderful artistic heritage of the historic centre, starting from the famous marble busts preserved in Villa Margherita.

The cinema under the stars, at 9.15pm, will feature the film “A Family Affair” by the Japanese master Kore-eda Hirokazu, a bitter reflection on social inequalities, awarded as best film at Cannes. Tomorrow’s evening screening, Sunday 23 June, will be that of “The Chimera” by Alice Rohrwacher, a poetic story set in the 1980s, in the clandestine world of “grave robbers”, with a young English archaeologist involved in the clandestine trafficking of archaeological finds.
