The first edition of the Tre Valli Varesine Handbike is scheduled for Saturday 22 June, a para-cycling event organized, in close collaboration with the municipal administration, by the Alfredo Binda cycling club, a local sporting reality that promotes the classic race for professionals and the Tre Valli Varesine Women’s Race which has been starting in Busto Arsizio for a few years.

In this case Busto will not only be the starting point of the competition, but will be the backdrop to the competition, which will award the Municipality of Busto Arsizio Trophy – e-work Grand Prix, as part of the national competition “Italian cup test 2024”, categories handbikes, tricycles and under 14s.

Appointment for departure at 3.30pm from the Textile Museum.

Over 100 Paralympic athletes from the under 14 category onwards will compete on a 4.5 km circular route which will take in the streets and squares of Volta, Zappellini, Cristoforo Colombo, F.lli d’Italia, Garibaldi, Crespi , Trento and Trieste, Mazzini, Dante Alighieri, Plebiscito, dei Mille, Magenta, Pellico, Rimembranze, Assisi, Manzoni and San Michele.
Great athletes of the Italian para-cycling movement were present at the event: the world champion and European handbike champion Roberta Amedeo, the handbike world champion Mirko Testa, the Italian handbike champion Alessandro D’Onofrio, Vito Lascaro, pink jersey at the Giro d’Italia 2023 and the President Pohla-Varese handbike Marco Re Calegari.

The village where all the competition activities and awards ceremonies will take place will be set up in the Square Garden of the Textile Museum.

This is the program of the event:

1.00pm meeting and delivery of race numbers. Square Garden

2.45pm Road closure and route test

3.30pm Race start 1. Textile Museum, Categories MH3, MH4, MH5, OPEN, UNDER 14

5.00pm Start of race 2. Textile Museum Categories MH1, MH2, HW ALL, TRICYCLES M/F

7.00 pm Awards ceremony: Giardino Quadrato.

On the occasion of the event, the following traffic measures have been established for all vehicles on 22 June: in the time slot from 11.00 to 19.00, the transit ban and the parking ban with forced removal on both sides of the road sections affected by the transit of the race and in particular in the following streets and squares: Galvani, Zappelini, F.lli d’Italia, Assisi, Palestro (tract from via Assisi to piazza Manzoni), Manzoni (from Palestro to Confalonieri), Mille, Trento Trieste, Mazzini (tract from via Foscolo to via Dante) and Dante in the time slot from 12:00 to 19:00, with the consequent mandatory directions; the ban on parking with forced removal except authorized (flagships following the races) in via Galvani and in the rest area located at the Isonzo/Galvani intersection, between 08:00 and 20:00:

the suspension of road traffic in the time slot from 12.30 to 19.00, along the stretches of road affected by the tender referred to in the object and more precisely in the following squares, streets and avenues: Volta c/o Textile Museum (meeting point /departure) – Colombo – Zappellini Brothers of Italy – Garibaldi – Crespi – Trento Trieste – Mazzini (from Foscolo to Dante) – Dante (from Mazzini to Mille) – Plebiscito – Mille – Magenta (from Mille to Pellico) – Pellico – Rimembranze (from Pellico to Assisi) – Assisi – Palestro (from Assisi to Manzoni) – Manzoni (from Palestro to San Michele) – San Michele – Volta for two laps and for the duration strictly necessary for the race to take place;

• the obligation for all vehicles coming from areas or roads that intersect or enter the one affected by the transit of competitors to stop before engaging it, respecting the manual or light signals of the bodies in charge of surveillance;

• the ban on crossing the route even for pedestrians during transit
competitors.

PARKING LOTS

To participate in the event and to reach the center we recommend using the car parks in via Alberto da Giussano and via Monti, turning on from viale Duca D’Aosta / Cadorna.

It is also possible to access the Einaudi car park by following the route: via Montello, via Cadamosto, via Poerio, via Confalonieri, piazza Manzoni, corso Europa, via Einaudi.
