Cerignola. “3 million euros for new kindergartens thanks to PNRR funds”

The Municipality of Cerignola has been selected by the Ministry of Education and Merit to receive funding of 3 million euros, as part of the PNRR, intended for the construction of three new nursery schools, which will expand the educational offer for early childhood in the city .

The new structures will be built in peripheral areas of the city: via Fra Daniele, in the Fornaci district, via Urbe in the Torrillie district, via Corso Vecchio, in the Santa Barbara district, guaranteeing greater accessibility and coverage of the service throughout the municipal territory. The structures will be designed according to the most modern safety and quality standards, offering large, bright spaces, outdoor play areas and child-friendly furnishings.

The investment falls within the scope of the PNRR funds, financed by the European Union – Next Generation EU, Plan for nursery schools and preschools, an integral part of Mission 4 of the PNRR, dedicated to Education and Research. The project involves the creation of 126 new places in nursery schools, responding to the growing demand for educational services for children aged between 0 and 2 years.

“These are three new state-of-the-art facilities, designed to accommodate 42 children each, thus responding to the needs of the most densely populated neighborhoods of our city. Our goal is to start with the construction of the structures as soon as possible: we will carefully follow the entire construction process”, commented Michele Lasalvia, councilor for Public Works.

“This funding is a unique opportunity to improve the educational offer in our city”, began the Welfare councilor, Maria Dibisceglia. “Investing in early childhood means investing in the future of our community, creating the foundation for a more equitable and inclusive society. The new nursery schools will be places where children can develop their potential, socialize and prepare themselves as best as possible for their school career.”

“This new investment demonstrates the ability of our PNRR control room to attract funding with quality projects, planning interventions that aim to completely redesign the urban fabric of our city, especially the suburbs: our objective is to reduce the lack of essential services for many families, today made up of working parents who are looking for places where their child can grow up peacefully, with quality education and sustainable costs”, concludes the mayor Francesco Bonito.
