SAVINO MONTARULI TO THE NEW PREFECT D’AGOSTINO: “HOW IS THE ANTI-RACKET DOOR IN CANOSA WORKING, IF IT IS WORKING?”
The explosion in Piazza Galluppi, in Canosa di Puglia, not only fuels the fear that has been worrying the citizens of Canosa for some time now but also arouses the reaction of non-aligned associations who do not remain silent and who have always denounced the seriousness of the situation relating to public order and the perception of insecurity in the cities of the sixth province.
Even in this circumstance, the union activist Savino Montaruli, Unibat President, does not send word, who, addressing the new Prefect directly, declares: “what happened again in Piazza Galluppi in Canosa not only represents yet another serious episode of a probable criminal nature but it highlights how the state of abandonment of the squares and historic centers represents a very serious deficit that can all be traced back to the bad politics that governs our cities. What happened in Canosa is nothing other than the representation and superposition of a climate of widespread crime that involves the cities of this territory: from Canosa to Trani passing through Andria and Barletta. The news episodes are all there and you just need to know how to read them to understand how much citizens and entrepreneurs are suffering.
I therefore invite the new Prefect, HE Dr. Silvana D’Agostino to convene with the utmost urgency the meeting of the Observatory on Economic-Social Tensions which, by now, has not met in Canosa since Wednesday 8 February 2023 and, in the meantime, the the situation has gotten much worse, not only in Canosa. On the occasion of the Observatory meeting, which we will obviously participate in as one of the most representative and significant Associations, it would be appropriate for the Prefect to also come and report on how the Anti-racket Help Desk is working and whether it is working in Canosa, given what happened in the recent past. Even with the Prefect D’Agostino we will be collaborative and not aligned, therefore reliable and never aligned or servile to any pre-established power” – concluded Montaruli of Unibat.
