CORIGLIANO-ROSSANO – The Calabrian athletic community celebrates an important novelty: Maria Giovanna Brindisi, teacher of motor sciences at the L. Palma Institute of Corigliano-Rossano and instructor for two years of the Asd Corricastrovillari, has been officially appointed regional technical collaborator for the launch sector by the regional committee. This designation represents a significant recognition for Brindisi and a precious support for the technical trustee Pino Pignata.

Maria Giovanna Brindisi demonstrated her abilities with excellent results, including the victory of cadet Jesse Nosakahre John at the national BRAVIN trophy in Rome, which led to the conquest of fourth place in the national ranking with a measurement of 15.25 meters. Furthermore, among its athletes, very important results stand out such as Francesca Basile in the hammer with a measurement of 40.53 meters (eleventh position in the national ranking), Giuseppe Acri in the discus with 34.66 meters, and Simone Falcone in the hammer, which occupies 34th place nationally with a measurement of 34.33 metres.

The appointment of Maria Giovanna Brindisi is a source of pride for Asd Corricastrovillari, a company that actively collaborates with the city of Corigliano-Rossano to promote and make athletics accessible to citizens. A recent initiative that demonstrates the city’s commitment in this sector is the recognition of the title of “City of running and walking”. This honor, defined by the national Fidal and the ANCI, was obtained thanks to the creation of safe and accessible routes for lovers of running and walking. The city will receive the symbolic Blue Flag from Olympian and race walking champion, Maurizio Damilano.

The other instructors of the ASD Corricastrovillari join in their good wishes for Brindisi’s appointment, harboring hopes of achieving similar prestigious results. Active instructors include Ivano Nicoletti and Jaime Hernandez for Team Corigliano-Rossano, Massimo Mungo, Mario D’Ingianna and Luana Marrone for Team Castrovillari, and Flavio Beltrano and Mimma Viscomi for team Botricello. Mariangela Gaudio and Francesca Bettolino, who started the activities of the continuously growing company, also receive special thanks for their fundamental contribution.

The Milanese President, together with the entire board of directors, expresses the hope that this designation can further stimulate ambitious achievements for all the athletes and instructors involved. The road towards new goals continues with renewed commitment and passion, strengthening the position of Asd Corricastrovillari in the panorama of regional and national athletics.
