The Olympic shooting range in Mazara del Vallo is preparing to host the second edition of the Mediterranean Grand Prix on 6 and 7 July. This is a major international event organized by the Asd Shooting 2020 Mazara company, chaired by Vincenzo Asaro, in collaboration with Fitav and with the patronage of CONI, the Sicilian Region, the regional Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment and the Municipality of Mazara del Vallo, to which this year are added the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Sicilian Regional Assembly.

The structure in the Castelluzzo district, managed solely by the Asd Tiro a volo 2020 Mazara, confirms itself as one of the most important clay pigeon shooting facilities in Europe after the success last year of the first edition of the Mediterranean Grand Prix, which saw the participation of over a hundred athletes. The 2024 edition of trap and paratrap shooting will see the participation of over 150 athletes from various Mediterranean countries, who will compete for the prize money in the different categories, team and individual. Among the participants also the Malta national team.

During the same event, the Saro Avveduto Trophy will be awarded, dedicated to the late vice president of the Federation, gold star for sporting merit, who worked to bring the Mazara polyfield back to its former glory.
