On 21 June 2024 at the Tenuta Augusta farmhouse, the Territorial Council of UILA UIL Ravenna met in the presence of the General Secretary of UILA Emilia Romagna, Sergio Modanesi and the General Secretary of UIL Ravenna, Carlo Sama.

The UILA, a category of the UIL which brings together more than 2000 members employed in agri-food work in the Ravenna area, appears to be (with data certified by INPS) the first organization at a national level in the agricultural sector, while in the province of Ravenna (source Labor Inspectorate ) appears to be first in representation in the food industrial sector.

The Territorial Council of UILA Ravenna, following the premature death of the late Filippo Errani, decided to assign its leadership to Alessandro Mazza.

Mazza, born in 1984, who likes to underline his “bottom-up” origin, has a past as an MSW in BUNGE Italia Spa and from 2016 to 2022 he was General Secretary of the UILA of Rimini where he achieved excellent organizational results.

The new Secretariat led by Alessandro Mazza sees Andrea Arfilli in the role of Organizational Secretary and as members we find Katarzyna Baranowska and Valentina Beghini, while Maurizio Menghi is confirmed as Treasurer.

After an introductory report by the Regional Secretary Modanesi, which touched on various themes, the debate focused on the ongoing mobilization relating to the breakdown of the negotiation for the renewal of the CCNL of Agricultural Cooperatives.

This sector is among the most important in Romagna and the employees of companies such as Apofruit, Agrentità, Granfrutta Zani, Amadori, Martini, Caviro, Cevico, just to name a few, deserve a dignified contractual renewal which can, as far as possible, reduce the which has been the inflationary impact experienced by people in recent times.

On July 1st, a national strike in the sector was proclaimed and further initiatives in support of the dispute cannot be ruled out.

Furthermore, the new Secretary Mazza, among the various topics touched on in his speech, placed particular attention on participation and safety at work also in light of the tragic fatal accidents that affect the world of work in our country on a daily basis.

The UILA and the UIL will always be at the side of the people, without exception.
