“Jorge and Marc are very strong”
Before the sixth seasonal Grand Prix began in Barcelona, Aleix Espargarò announced his retirement at the end of the year and so Aprilia will have to find a replacement in view of 2025. The Noale manufacturer does not hide its appreciation for Enea Bastianini, a young and Italian talent, who is now poised in the official Ducati team. The Bolognese manufacturer admitted that after Mugello, therefore next week, it will announce who Francesco Bagnaia’s next teammate will be and Bastianini himself admitted: “It’s probably the most difficult decision for Ducati, I understand, with Pecco, Jorge and Marc we are the top four in the standings, but Pecco is out of the discussion because he already has the contract for next year. Jorge and Marc are very strong and this will complicate things”.

Apparently Bastianini, who has Carlo Pernat as his manager, appears calm and admitted: “Right now my saddle is not uncomfortable, because the Ducati is very fast, I have improved further and I have the possibility of confirming myself as an official rider next year too”. If it doesn’t happen with Ducati, there is also the other Italian manufacturer to take into consideration: “Aprilia could be a possibility. He is a good builder, he has made great progress in the last five years. It could be a good alternative, but let’s wait a moment longer before drawing conclusions”. His goal is to reconfirm himself in “red”, even if the two contenders on this issue have better results on their side, but now it’s almost time to know what decision Ducati has made.
