The die is cast. Benevento’s decisive attack began three strikers who have been in our sights for some time. Manconi, Morra and Lamesta soon they will be able to wear yellow and red. For about ten days Marcello Carli has effectively blocked all three of them, reaching an agreement both with the teams they belong to and with their respective agents. The club intends to replenish its players who often remained dry last year. For this reason, the idea of Auteri, the technical director and president Vigorito, as explained several times in recent days, is to equip an “atomic” attack.
With 7 performers, two for each role plus Starita to act as a wild card. Lanini and Manconi compete for the left-handed lane, Morra and Perlingieri act as midfielders, Ciciretti and Lamesta joust on the right lane. No one in C would have such firepower. The objective is clear: to reverse the trend and correct defects where they have appeared. The advanced department scored little compared to its direct competitors, while the defense and midfield fared better. And so it is good and right to intervene right there, where the tooth hurts. With a surgical operation, grafting different characteristics: the ability to dictate Manconi’s depth and instinct for goals, Morra’s physicality and ability to break through, also skilled in aerial play (another fundamental where Benevento fails) and the Lamesta’s speed and technique, very skilled at jumping man and dribbling in tight spaces.
Marcello Carli has been working on these three names for a couple of weeks, the alternatives have never been discussed because there has been no need. Each of them was at the top of the list of coach and sporting director for the relevant role. Everyone immediately expressed their desire to move to the Giallorossi. No one ever hesitated or asked to wait. They declared themselves available to embrace the Giallorossi cause from the first moment. The agreements should be concluded on a three-year basis but a fixed and a variable part should be included in the contract. That variable will be triggered with bonuses linked to goals, assists and appearances. Paradoxically, if each of them had a high quality season, they would earn even more than if they had a contract with only a fixed part. It’s a way to bet on yourself, but also for Benevento to stimulate the players more. In fact, many athletes, after having signed a three-year contract, feel “satisfied” and their performance risks being affected. For Morra, Benevento will pay the release clause of 80 thousand euros, the Manconi and Lamesta deals should be unblocked after the payment of a non-exaggerated sum. The overall cost of both cards should be around 300/350 thousand euros, therefore all three operations should be contained below half a million euros.
The negotiations continue to the bitter end but are all well underway. Manconi seems the closest and even appeared more motivated than the others: on his trail Avellino and Catania, the other two big names in group C, as well as the newly promoted Juve Stabia and Sudtirol. But he promised himself to Benevento well in advance and therefore waited impatiently for Benevento to start the final phase. Morra and Lamesta are also ready to land in Sannio. Yesterday was a hectic day with Carli, who is trying to close all three deals at the same time, to arrive at a single official announcement. It won’t be easy, but the technical director likes challenges.

In the meantime, the first farewell after that of the expired players is looming. Krysztof Kubica is one step away from returning to Ks Krakow after a season in which he was employed drizzledly. A loan transfer is looming for him, but if the Poles, who play in the top division, are also willing to pay a sum of money (it won’t be easy), he could also be sold outright. In any case, the roster will already be lightened by a first unit and that would be no small thing.
