AN OPEN-AIR GYM OPENS
On Saturday 22 June, at 10.30 am at the Baitina of the Alto Milanese Park, “An open-air gym 2024” will be inaugurated, a summer initiative of social aggregation and physical activity in the green area between the municipalities of Busto Arsizio, Castellanza and Legnano. The project, promoted and financed by the Parco Alto Milanese Consortium and managed by the “Stare Bene Insieme Aps” association, will see the organization of gentle gymnastics activities from Tuesday 25 June and will continue until 20 September. The activities are open and accessible to everyone, to people of any age and level of motor ability and are completely free. With the project “An open-air gym” the objective is to involve different groups of citizens in creating moments of socialization, leisure and social cohesion especially in the summer, when services and points of reference are no longer available (read here).
VECSPORT
It is the day of sport and work that dialogue in Castellanza, with Vecsport. The morning will include sporting activities, to which participants will be able to freely access, and the round table moderated by Camilla Buttà, Sustainability & Communication Manager of Vector, and Daniele Cassioli, water skiing champion and president of the Real Eyes association, between 9 :00 and 10:15 The 10:30-12:00 time slot will be dedicated to free trials of various inclusive sports (read HERE).
BUST HANDBIKE
The first edition of the Tre Valli Varesine Handbike is scheduled for Saturday 22 June, a para-cycling event organized, in close collaboration with the municipal administration, by the Alfredo Binda cycling club. Appointment for departure at 3.30pm from the Textile Museum. Over 100 Paralympic athletes from the under 14 category onwards will compete on a 4.5 km circular route which will take in the streets and squares of Volta, Zappellini, Cristoforo Colombo, F.lli d’Italia, Garibaldi, Crespi , Trento and Trieste, Mazzini, Dante Alighieri, Plebiscito, dei Mille, Magenta, Pellico, Rimembranze, Assisi, Manzoni and San Michele. The village where all the competition activities and awards ceremonies will take place will be set up in the Square Garden of the Textile Museum. FIBER4PLANET AT PALAZZO CICOGNA
At Palazzo Marliani Cicogna, Elena Rizzardi’s exhibition “Fiber4Planet” (read HERE) continues until July 14th with summer opening hours and in-depth events. The first in-depth event will take place on Saturday 22 June at 6pm: inspired by the theme of the Venice Biennale “Foreigners Everywhere”, the Serbian Aleksandra Damnjanovic, writer and author of international projects and competitions for schools, the Lugano natives of Persian origin Nasser will be present and Yugo Pejman, promoters of international literary events, Jane Bowie, an all-round artistic sensitivity for theater developed in the climate of Edinburgh, Scotland, and Amilca Ismael, lecturer and writer of Mozambican origin.

At 6pm in the sanctuary of Santa Maria there will be a “Sacred Love” concert and at 7.15pm the Tramando dell’Acqua di San Giovanni ceremony.
BERGORO PATRONAL PARTY
The patronal feast of San Giovanni Battista in Bergoro, Fagnano, sees the mass presided over by Don Mario Magnaghi at 6.30 pm on Saturday 22nd, followed by the opening of fishing, an exhibition on Don Mario Mascheroni, an oratory bar, inflatables. At 7pm food stand and at 9pm Faber Band in concert – Italian singer-songwriters. Sunday solemn mass presided over by Don Gabriele Trivellin at 10.30, then convivial aperitif in the square. After vespers, the food stand is still open and at 9pm the Vipers in concert – Queen.
MARCO POLO IN CASTELLANZA
On Saturday 22 June, at 9pm at the Teatro di Via Dante, due to the bad weather conditions forecast, the Fondazione Onlus Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani di Torino company will stage some episodes taken from the famous story Il Milione by Marco Polo with the show “Marco Polo and the journey of wonders” dedicated to children and families.
The show, with free entry, enjoys the patronage of the City of Castellanza and is included in the program of “L’Estate in Città 2024”.
THEATER IN CALIPOLIS
On Saturday 22 June at 9pm in Calipolis the La Marmotta APS Theater Company will stage Molière’s masterpiece: “The Miser”: reduction and adaptation by Fabio Massimo Jacobelli, directed by Francesco Giuffrida. Eight euros for the fee, to help Father Giovanni Malvestio, Comboni missionary (read HERE).
MARNATE TORCH PROCESSION
On the evening of Saturday 22 June the votive torch will arrive for the 50th time at the San Luigi oratory in Marnate, where the parish has organized a big party to celebrate the important anniversary. We start at 7.30pm with the opening of the food stand in the oratory, and then wait together for the young people coming from the Superga sanctuary who should arrive in the town at 8.45pm. The evening will then continue with a large party organized within the oratory spaces.

“THE MICROPHONE OF ITALY” MAKES A STOP IN OLGIATE
On Sunday 23 June, at 2.30 pm, the Verdi pizza restaurant in Olgiate Olona will host a selection of the national competition “The Microphone of Italy”, an event conceived and organized by Samuel Accomo. Olgiate Olona’s is the first Lombard selection of the national competition which places Italian music and song at its centre: «An opportunity for performers who aim to emerge in the musical field», underlines the creator (read here).
