Rome, 21 June 2024 – Odyssey on the tracks for the Frecciarossa 9422 Naples Centrale-Venice Santa Lucia. Having left at 12.09pm, the train was expected in the lagoon city at 5.34pm. Instead, after a few minutes of leaving the Rome station, it stopped due to a breakdown in the middle of the Settebagni countryside, staying under the sun for hours moreover without air conditioning. As time passed, the supply of water bottles in the restaurant car ran out and the heat became increasingly unbearable. It was impossible to open the windows on a high-speed train and so – some of the passengers said – the perceived temperature became 50 degrees.

The delay that accumulated was three hours and only around 4.30 pm the passengers were moved to another train. “We have not heard of any illnesses among passengers – reports the Italian Railway Network (RFI) – the cost of the ticket will come Obviously returned.
