STOP the casualization of workers in the social and procurement sectors!! Thus thunder the trade union organizations FP CGIL Rieti Roma EVA and CISL FP Roma Capitale Rieti who announce a sit – in protest under the Municipality of Guidonia for the day of June 25th from 9.00 to 11.00.
“More than a month has passed since home care workers from the ADI (elderly care) service in District RM 5.2 were hired by a temporary agency instead of those who should have hired them due to the so-called social clause provided for on procurement, as established by the sector’s national collective bargaining agreement and above all due to the safeguarding of the quality of the service including continuity of care and employment. After our complaints, our notes, and our warnings”, they continue, “the Municipality first invited the Valcomino Consortium (incoming body) and then explicitly asked it to apply the provisions of the tender specifications and customs on the matter of application of the so-called social clause.
However, the Consortium decided to continue regardless of the social partners and institutions. Today, once the terms of the extension for another part of the assistance (assistance for people with ADH disabilities) have expired, these workers also risk the same fate. We cannot allow it, the Municipality”, they conclude, “takes the consequential actions by guaranteeing the protection of workers and the quality of services”
