The Pescara Local Health Authority provides some clarifications regarding the waiting lists «in the desire to provide correct information to citizens and to counteract the rampant misinformation created and fueled following the service of the program “Fuori dal coro” on Rete 4 (episode of the 22nd May 2024)”, as stated in a note.
«In the national health system», continues the note, «the problem of waiting lists represents the critical issue most felt and paid attention to by all institutions».
Then from the health company they continue: «The Abruzzo Region and the Pescara Local Health Authority undertake with the most complete involvement every significant and suitable action that can lead to the improvement of the services provided to citizens. And then again: «With regards to the requests presented by citizens, pursuant to article 3 paragraph 13 of legislative decree 124/1998 for which the maximum waiting time established by current regulations on the matter is not respected, the press organs refer to legislation dating back 26 years ago whose effectiveness ceased to exist, according to the provisions of the same law, with the entry into force of the regional sector regulations (Dgr numbers 496 of 31/5/2005, 1050 of 24 /10/2005, 710 of 26/6/2007 and 102 of 5/2/2007). As a demonstration of the attention paid to the problem, the ASL of Pescara, as well as the ASL of Teramo, requested a specific opinion from the Department of Health of the Abruzzo Region, regarding the correct interpretation of the aforementioned legislation. The feedback received from the Department confirmed the “transitional nature of the regulatory provision” and its non-application by virtue of the relevant regional provisions. All the tools that the national and regional legislation provide, as well as the provisions for combating waiting lists, contained in the decree law number 73 of 7/6/2024, have been paid attention to and proposed by Vilma Rosa, recently appointed as administrative manager of the Cup and the URP, and welcomed by the company’s strategic management with the precise desire to implement all possible actions to improve waiting times. It is also specified that the general director Vero Michitelli, on the occasion of the television program “Fuori dal coro”, engaged in institutional activities which could not be postponed, had given wide availability, in the presence of witnesses and during the specially cut shots, to deal with the topic at another time.”
