The Neighborhood Council 2 organize for Saturday 22 June the second “Historical-naturalistic walk through the neighborhoods of Calcinate degli Orrigoni, Masnago and Avigno”.
The walk, which last year saw the presence of a large group of participants, aims to raise awareness of some places in the area with a strong historical and naturalistic value that are unknown to most or simply to which we usually pay little attention . Furthermore, the route suggests the idea of a different and sustainable mobility for moving between neighboring neighborhoods without necessarily having to use the car, also encouraging physical activity and sociability.
The rally is set for 4pm at parking lot of the Calcinate degli Orrigoni athletics fieldand then move to the area of educational gardens Of Tropical Utopia where Marta and Riccardo will explain the dynamics of their business and the natural balances that govern these gardens. You will then go up towards Masnago where you will cross the park Villa Baragiola and his beautiful dacha.
We will then arrive at Avignon where, along the Noseda trailthe beating heart of the neighborhood, will be reached there Velate Tower and the small church of San Cassianoopen to the public for the occasion, where a guide will complete the day with the story of the almost thousand-year history of the religious building.
At the end of the walk it will be possible to refresh yourself at the food stand in the adjacent Avigno oratory set up on the occasion of the patronal feast of which the walk is an integral part. Drinks offered by the organizers to all participants.
Participants are advised to wear trekking shoes and bring a supply of water with them. Only in case of rain will the walk be postponed to a date yet to be agreed.
