Monza, fiber arrives: protests are raining down on the latest excavations in Sant’Albino

Roads in less than optimal conditions in the Sant’Albino district of Monza. These are not the “usual” asphalt failures that cause urban craters but of the consequences of the work carried out to lay the optical fibre.
The situation was reported by Sant’Albino and San Damiano neighborhood committee which received several reports from residents.

Monza, fiber arrives: excavations on recently laid asphalt

«Deep trenches have been dug throughout the neighborhood, even in front of the gates and doors, making access difficult for the inhabitants» they let the district know. TO to annoy more than a citizen was the fact that «in the stretch of Via Sant’Albino that flows onto Via Adda, a very recently laid asphalt was excavated». In short, an operation that could have been agreed previously with the Municipality.

Subsequently to try to «settle the matter» the potholes were filled by proceeding with new asphalting. «For days – some Santalbine residents recall – we were surrounded by fumes that even made the mosquitoes disappear».

Monza, fiber arrives: «We ask for control of the works»

The current road surface has a number of flaws. «The asphalting – many note – appears granular and slightly compressed. In various cases it can be said that it was approximate». This is why citizens call for «a check of the work carried out and perhaps also of the quality of the asphalt».
Sidewalks aren’t doing any better either. «Everywhere there are excavations with haphazardly arranged patches. It’s not exactly a pretty sight as well as being a trip and fall hazard for those walking or cycling and causing some damage to those passing by in a car. Who knows if and when a similar mess will be able to be remedied».
