MESSINA – The XIV Charter Night and the passing of the bell between the outgoing president Rosalia Paola Iorio and the incoming president Lina Panella of the Messina Colapesce Lions Club were a moment of great significance. During the event, we reflected on the qualitative value of the activities carried out in the area and on the social role of Lions in promoting mechanisms for qualifying services in the community. The outgoing president, Rosalia Paola Iorio, underlined the importance of the meetings and project paths, which contributed to developing interdisciplinary and interclub strategies. These dynamic factors have fueled the energies of the territory and have made Lions builders of ideas, capable of offering credibility through concrete intervention plans. Their role as a link between community, planning and territoriality is increasingly relevant.
During the evening, the speeches of the Zona President Maria Francesca Scilio and the President of the III District Anna Capillo highlighted the club’s actions and initiatives. These strategies have made it possible to achieve objectives and provide services to the community. Past district governors Giuseppe Scamporrino and Francesco Freni Terranova underlined the works carried out to respond to emerging needs, emergency situations and overloading of structures. During the event, member Giuseppe Magaudda, who recently passed away, was remembered. Furthermore, awards were awarded, including the Chevron 10 years to Sebastiano Tamà and the 1st Prize in the Competition for Civic Education to the Istituto Comprensivo Vittorini.

District and Club Officers were also present at the event, as well as the Presidents and Secretaries of the III and IV Districts. The past president of the Board of Governors of MD 108 Italy and GWA, Salvatore Giacona, concluded the evening by recalling the importance of the defense of values by Lions International and the awareness of being excellence in a complex and constantly evolving world. The solidarity and industriousness of Lions continues to drive activities in humanitarian projects.
