The following press release arrives from Officine Cromatiche of Isernia: “Great success for the event which confirms itself as a flagship in the artistic and cultural panorama of the pentro capital. A journey through the emotions, visions and experiences of photographers and amateur photographers from all over Italy: with 1825 photographs and 165 participants (the highest number of photographers from Tuscany) the 8th edition of the “Città di Isernia” National Photographic Competition, organized by the photographic association of Isernia “Officine Cromatiche”, it confirms itself as the flagship in the artistic and cultural panorama of the pentro capital. There jurycomposed of Teresa Mirabella (FIAF representative), Roberto Scannella (UIF representative), Alfredo Ingino (FIAF representative), Fernando Luigi Lucianetti (FIAF representative) and Francesco Falcone (FIAF representative), met on 8 June in Isernia to decree photos admitted and awarded for each category, as well as the Special Jury Prizes and the Best Author of the Competition. Three sections: Mandatory theme “Set portrait”, Free “Color” Theme, Free theme “Black and White”. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday 22 June 2024, at 4.30 pm, in the foyer of the “Unità d’Italia” Auditorium in Isernia in Corso Risorgimento n. 221 and will see the participation as guest of honor of the award-winning photojournalist Parma Marco Gualazzini who will dialogue with those present on the topic “Portraits: lights and shadows” together with Valentina Notarberardino, freelance in the field of communication for publishing, photography and art. An event that celebrates reportage photography by Gualazzini which defines itself as aseeker of stories to tell with images”, opening a window with a high emotional impact that highlights the lights and shadows of the conflicts and humanitarian crises of the African continent, to which he has dedicated much of his professional commitment. From Congo to Mali, from Uganda to Somalia, up to the project on the great humanitarian crisis underway along the Lake Chad basin due to desertification as a consequence of climate change which earned him the World Press Photo in 2019. The National Photographic Competition “City of Isernia” makes use of patronage of the FIAF (Italian Federation of Photographic Associations), of the UIF (Italian Union of Amateur Photographers), of the Tourism Department of the Molise Region as part of the “Tourism is Culture” project, of the Province of Isernia and the Municipality of Isernia, with the collaboration of the “LAI” cooperative for the completely artisanal creation of plaques for the prizes awarded and of Antonio Pallotta’s Sm’Art Association.
