Double theft in the center of Siena, one reported

The State Police carried out a house search at the home of a 26-year-old of Tunisian origins, presumed responsible, according to current investigative findings, for the double aggravated theft committed on the night between 4 and 5 June last, against two well-known businesses shops in the center of Siena, a hairdresser and a clothing store.

The agents of the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters, immediately after the events, thanks to a careful and scrupulous reconstruction of the subject’s movements, through the examination of the city cameras, had managed to give a face to the person who, that night, after having forced the entrance door of both businesses with kicks and shoulder strikes, he had taken possession of the cash register of one of them, stealing its contents, 800 euros, and abandoning it along the city streets.

From the investigations, however, it emerged that from the other shop, the criminal – with multiple convictions for similar crimes – had left empty-handed, however leaving the owner with damage to the window.

Thanks to the circularity of information among the police, the soldiers of the San Gimignano Carabinieri Station would have recognized the person identified by the police, thus attributing a name to that face: it would indeed be the Tunisian, aged 26, well known to the soldiers to the Army.

Yesterday, the search carried out by the State Police: further elements were found in the apartment in support of the investigative theory, specifically the particular t-shirt worn during the events.

The 26-year-old, alleged perpetrator of the double theft in the centre, was therefore reported in a state of freedom to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Siena, pending further investigative evidence.
