Milan – After rains – of limited intensity – of the last few hours, on Lombardy it will be another weather warning day. Today, in particular, could be particularly critical, with strong thunderstorms particularly in the northern area of the region. For this reason, an orange alert has been issued for strong storms and a yellow alert for hydrogeological risk.

From the afternoon, a progressive increase in instability is expected starting from the West with widespread showers and thunderstorms across the Alps and Pre-Alps, followed by partial involvement of the medium and high plain sectors as well, albeit with low forecast reliability. The phenomena expected in the lower plains and the Apennines are unlikely and at most isolated. Corresponding to the storm phenomena, they will be more intense possible medium-large hailstorms and strong gusts of wind. In the Alpine and pre-Alpine areas, with good probability, the convective precipitations will locally assume a semi-stationary character and persist over very limited areas: possible accumulations of up to 80-100 mm in a few hours.
