Odiete, a Bersagliere is forever

It’s really true that when you wear the red and blue Bersaglieri shirt it becomes a second skin. A classic example of this is David Odiete, one of the players who, despite playing with Femi Cz Rovigo for only three seasons and then going to France, now that with Stade Niçois he has achieved promotion to D2, a month after the victory over his own social pages recounts his experience as a rugby player and dedicates an important part to his years in the rossoblù.

David Odiete joined Femi Cz Rovigo in the 2017-2018 season, after playing first with Zebre and then with Benetton Treviso. With the Bersaglieri he became a point of reference for the team, collecting 49 appearances and 206 points, 21 goals in the 2018-2019 Top12 and with Rugby Rovigo he also won the Italian Cup in the 2019-2020 season. Season which will then be interrupted due to Covid-19. So the choice to try the French experience by moving to Dijon and then decides to move down a category and settles in D3 with Stade Nicois with which he wins promotion to D2.

So with a cool head David Odiete talks about his career where, as we said, he never forgot Rugby Rovigo signifying how whoever wears the rossoblù shirt remains a Bersagliere forever. These are his words: “Champions. A month later. I always try to avoid personal and profound sharing on social media, but I admit that I have always appreciated and taken as a source of inspiration the successes and failures of men and women who are committed to their goals. This chapter deserves its moment. A way for me to fix the memory, thank those who accompanied me and perhaps leave something useful for those who like to read and be inspired, each in their own challenges. Four years ago my new adventure in France began. After having had the privilege of being able to experience the highest level that the home had to offer: Zebre, Benetton and Italy. I sign for a unique club in Italy, Rugby Rovigo Delta. Fans without equal. Teammates, friends that I carry inside. Staff and presidency always close and listening. Seasons as metamen, a trophy and more to come. In short, if it’s not yet clear: I was really good.”

Then David Odiete’s story continues until he celebrates the victory of last May 18th with the Stade Nicois shirt, conquering the D2, achieving his goal.
