In Italy, chronic pain affects around 20% of the population: a condition that significantly impacts the quality of life of patients, causing disability, social and work isolation and high economic costs.
Effective management of chronic pain reduces the use of inappropriate diagnostic investigations, medical treatments, visits and clinical complications, avoiding hospitalization which represents the most significant cost for the NHS and the SSRs.Starting from the current situation of caring for patients with chronic non-cancer pain, Motore Sanità intends to organize a road map in the main Italian regions. The objective of the event will be to highlight and share the strengths and critical points relating to the management of treatment paths, proposing on the basis of this call to action capable of implementing their appropriateness in all its aspects: therapeutic first and foremost, but also organizational, rehabilitative, training.
The Apulian leg of the conference is scheduled on June 26, 2024 and will take place at Bari at the Hotel Villa Romanazzi in Via Giuseppe Capruzzi, n. 326.
