It is with extreme sadness that the Cremonese Church community learned the news of the death of the 11-year-old girl who had been hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo since Monday 17 June.
That day the little girl was with the Grest of Caravaggio’s oratory at the Aquaneva park in Inzago (Milan), where she was found unconscious in the swimming pool.
His condition immediately appeared very serious and unfortunately his death was registered on the afternoon of Thursday 20 June.
In the silence of mourning, Bishop Antonio Napolioni with the diocesan community joins in prayer first and foremost to the little girl’s family.
A thought also goes to the community of Caravaggio and in particular to the priests, educators and all the children of the oratory who experience the loss of a friend with dismay.
The Diocese of Cremona offers its support to the Parish of Caravaggio which, with discretion and respect for the pain of the family members, immediately gave and continues to give its utmost availability to collaborate with the competent authorities who are carrying out investigations for the reconstruction of the facts at the origin of this tragedy.
In these hours of pain, the entire community and in particular the speakers of the diocese who are living the Grest experience and who have formed a large prayer network in recent days are invited to continue praying. (www.diocesidicremona.it)
