La Spezia Pride, original route restored: the procession will not pass through the pedestrian area of Corso Cavour

The route of the La Spezia Pride parade returns to its original version, ready to wind through the city next Saturday starting at 4.30pm in Piazza Brin. Today the organization had complained about a change in the route, communicated by the Mobility Office of the Palazzo Civico, with the provision of a passage in the pedestrian area of Corso Cavour, a hypothesis considered by the promoters to be extremely difficult given the consistency and characteristics of the parade, which involves among other things three wagons, a train and two vans. But, as mentioned, this afternoon we returned to the first configuration, with the police headquarters which, according to the organization of the event, authorized the passage of the Pride procession from Via Gramsci. La Spezia Pride is organized by Raot – Anti-homophobia and transphobia network, with the collaboration of Amnesty International, Arci, CGIL and Spezia per la Palestine.

“We want to continue working for our territory, to make it a welcoming and safe place for all marginalized subjects – introduces the Raot event -. We want to address the issue of civil rights with an intersectional perspective, also including social and family, environmental, health, right to migration, education and work issues. The rights of the LGBTIQIA+ community are non-negotiable, we must continue to be a tangible expression of the fight against inequalities related to sexual orientation and gender identity and beyond.”
