Crea Sanità promotes Tuscany

A photograph emerges of an Italy divided in two from the latest report by Crea Sanità, the Center for applied economic research in healthcare, which conducted an evaluation of the socio-health performances of the regions in the year 2022.

Tuscany is at the top of the national ranking together with Veneto, Piedmont and the autonomous province of Bolzano, placing itself in fourth place in the ranking with a performance index above 50 percent of the maximum level.

The research was conducted taking into account twenty relevant indicators of health, economic and social aspects divided into five dimensions: equity, appropriateness, outcomes, innovation, economic-financial and social. The combination gives the result of evaluating the performance of the health systems of the regions.

“In Tuscany we are for an Italy without fractures and for fair trade regionalism – recalls the president of Tuscany, Eugenio Giani – An Italy split in two scares us. This is why we are perplexed by the differentiated autonomy bill that has become law. We must know how to valorise skills, even in healthcare. But the resources must be distributed in a balanced way, without wars between territories.”

“The fact that Tuscany is placed at the top of the ranking means that we are working in the right direction, albeit with many difficulties – comments the councilor for the right to health, Simone Bezzini – However, what emerges from the report is worrying. These data highlight the difficulty of maintaining the public health system which, if not adequately financed, risks regression. We want to see the universal public healthcare system projected into the future: what we hope for is overall progress, not only for Tuscany but for all the regions”.
