his new adventure is official

The Pescara bench is still vacant, and will be for days to come, but its latest tenant has already found a new place. Not in Lega Pro, which says goodbye after 6 games plus two of the playoffs with Delfino, but in Serie D, a category that it had already tasted in the past: San Marino Calcio has in fact officially communicated that DS Gianluca Bollini has concluded the agreement regarding to the role of first team coach with Emmanuel Cascione. The agreement will come into effect starting from next July 1st. Born in Catanzaro, born in 1983, Cascione made over 400 appearances as a footballer between Serie A, B and C in teams such as Pistoiese, Cesena, Reggina, Rimini, Pescara where, under the guidance of Zeman, he won promotion to the series TO.

His path as a coach began with Cattolica San Marino, then Napoli Primavera, Sassuolo under 18, Pistoiese and Pescara where he finished in 6th place in the last Serie C championship. The coach enthusiastically embraced President Montanari’s project by accepting to move down a category, because he is confident of being able to contribute to the construction of a strong group capable of giving great satisfaction to the club and its fans.

The owner of San Marino Calcio said he was very satisfied with the “coup” achieved by the DS and commented: “I am very happy with the choice. Cascione is a young coach who has already gained experience in important places. A coach who has been on our radar for some time but, for obvious category reasons, almost unthinkable to take until a few days ago.

Then – continued the President – a series of events took a sudden turn, initially apparently unfortunate but then proving to be much, much more positive than one could have hoped for. So I can say that today our true dream/goal lands in the shadow of the Titan, a clear sign that San Marino Calcio is already structuring itself to realize its project which, in the short-medium term, aims to conquer the Lega Pro”.

The first team will carry out its pre-season preparation, under the orders of the new technical staff directed by Mister Cascione, from 25 July to 10 August. The location chosen for the retreat is in the quiet town of Monte Grimano Terme in the Marche region, at an altitude of 560 meters and a few minutes from the Republic of San Marino.
