Tuscany wine awarded at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles

Florence, 20 June 2024 – “He stands out with his selections of reds and whites there Tuscany at the 31st edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, held in Guanajuato, Mexico. A thirty-first edition in which Italy also hit the jackpot 15 Grand Gold medals conquered by the Belapese, two went to our region: the Chianti Riserva Poggio ai Falchi 2020 from Terre del Bruno and the Chianti Classico Riserva Uggiano 2020 from Uggiano. Added to this result are the gold and silver medals: 65 for Tuscany, followed by Sicily with 55 medals and Lombardy”. Thus the Tuscany Region in a note. In total, Italy, it explains further, “has been awarded, in addition to the 15 Grand Gold medals, 163 Gold Medals and the Sylvain Trophy for barricaded wine. An exceptional result if you consider that there were 7,500 wines in the competition and 42 nations represented. Italy is behind only France with a difference of 4 fewer medals but 149 more wines presented. In the selections, Tuscany stood out among all the regions of the Bel Paese. The Italian companies will be awarded in a special ceremony to be held on 7 October at Palazzo Valentini in Rome and then in an event dedicated to the public on 26 and 27 October in the Cloisters of San Barnaba in Milan”. Comments the governor Eugenio Giani: “Tuscan wine speaks to the world and does so with its excellence, as we see from the indisputable results it obtains everywhere. This happens thanks to the ancient history it has behind it, also in terms of protection, and to innovation and strong specialization that our winemakers bring into play. Thanks to its strength, Tuscan wine has become a value for the growth of our country’s gross domestic product”. The vice-president and councilor for agri-food of Tuscany Stefani a Saccardi was very satisfied, according to us “the excellent result is a confirmation of the quality and value of Tuscan viticulture, which extends from the Maremma to the Lunigiana, and represents an extraordinary peculiarity thanks to wineries, from from the largest to the smallest, which over time have been able to maintain a very high level. Wine is one of the great ambassadors of Tuscan quality and the engine of a very important direct and indirect economy, a fundamental resource that the Region has the duty to develop and promote with care”.
