«The economic situation in the Marche region is worrying. Acquaroli provides answers to families and businesses”

ANCONA Antonio Mastrovincenzo, vice-president of the Council Commission for Economic Development and Work of the Marche Region in the Democratic Party, expressed his opinion on the economic situation in the Marche region by bringing up the Council of the Governor Francesco Acquaroli

The note

«The annual report prepared and presented by Bankitalia relating to the Marche is truly alarming: economic growth is 0.6% (lower than the average for our country), industrial activity is decreasing, the tertiary sector is slowing down, credit to companies is collapsing ( -6.5%), slows down the employment trend which is much lower than the Italian average. Families in the Marche region have less purchasing power (-0.7%), both due to high inflation and the level of wages, which are lower than the Italian average, and they ask for fewer mortgages for the purchase of homes due to the rise of interest rates. The first data for 2024 then demonstrate that the situation is not improving but will unfortunately remain stable in the near future. Faced with this merciless picture, the Regional Council, which has remained essentially immobile in recent years, has the duty to implement adequate measures to shake up and stop this unacceptable decline; since the beginning of the Legislature we have been putting forward proposals that have always remained unheeded. It is necessary to activate immediate interventions that favor the growth of productivity and sustainability, focusing on the diffusion of technological innovation. But the substantial European funding from which the Marche region benefits must also be used more and better; it is necessary to focus on incisive employment policies, particularly with regard to youth and female employment and on training that truly corresponds to the needs of companies, increasingly valorising Higher Technical Institutes, which represent an opportunity of absolute importance. Finally, it is essential to give concrete support to families, especially those in the most difficult conditions: 38% of Marche citizens declare an income of less than 15,000 euros and the number of people at risk of poverty is constantly increasing.
Today I will present a question to urge the Acquaroli Council to activate urgent measures to combat a situation which otherwise risks leading the Marche region towards a very dangerous recession”.
