In the meeting, held last week, the third Commission for the evaluation of skills in the Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation – PCTO established by the Arezzo-Siena Chamber of Commerce, proceeded with the validation of the procedural process and therefore with the release, for the first time in Tuscany, “Certifications of skills in PCTO – mechanical sector”
The certification of skills is a system aimed at valorising and recognizing the skills and knowledge acquired by students during their educational, working and life experience through a process of reconstruction and evaluation of these experiences.
A path that is formalized and certified through a specific IT platform developed by Unioncamere in collaboration with some school networks (M2A, Re.Na.IA, TAM and Re.N.Is.A), with the trade associations Federmeccanica, Fipe , Federalberghi and Confindustria Moda and created with the technical support of DINTEC.
At the moment there are three sectors of intervention for which certifications are issued (mechatronics, digital and tourism) and activation for the agriculture sector is expected soon.
Therefore, the implementation of the third-party certification system allows the transparency of strategic skills for the labor market acquired in non-formal contexts such as the Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation (PCTO).
This is an activity that falls within the scope of the functions of the Chambers of Commerce aimed at improving the relationship between schools and the world of work.
The first 30 students who obtained the “certification of skills” come from the I SIS “Valdarno” of San Giovanni V.no, from the Omnicomprehensive Institute “Marcelli” of Foiano and from the Omnicomprehensive Institute “Avogrado-Vinci” of Abbadia S Salvador.
