ROME- AIRPORTS 2030, which in just a few years has consolidated itself as one of the main reference stakeholders in the Italian aviation sector, continues to grow and announces its entry into the Association of the Puglia Airport Network made up of the airports of Bari, Brindisi, Foggia and Taranto Grottaglie managed by Aeroporti di Puglia and UrbanV, the company that deals with sustainable urban air mobility founded by Aeroporti di Roma, Gruppo SAVE, Bologna Airport and Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur.
With these entries, AIRPORTS 2030 now includes 10 national airports, of which 2 are intercontinental, distributed throughout the Italian territory, including the capital’s airport system, with Fiumicino and Ciampino, the North-East airport hub with Venice, Verona, Brescia and Treviso, and the Apulian airport network with Bari, Brindisi, Foggia and Taranto.
The new memberships represent a significant step towards the mission of AIRPORTS 2030, the innovative hub dedicated to the airport sector open to system stakeholders, start-ups and national and international innovative platforms to further consolidate the commitment to driving change towards a greener and technologically advanced future. The four airports in Puglia, together with UrbanV, guarantee extensive experience and a strong commitment to sustainable practices, technological innovation and improving the passenger experience. According to AIRPORTS 2030, in fact, the airports of the future must have a vision of intermodal transport with an approach that favors sustainability and innovation. The use of renewable energy and the development of sustainable aviation fuels must therefore be implemented. It is necessary to move the airport system towards an increasingly digital mode that allows passengers and airlines to use new technologies effectively and safely, also through the development of advanced air mobility and vertiports.
