On June 22nd and 23rd, the Paul’s Friends Association will meet all fans of the pitches for two days of basketball in the name of their friend who passed away prematurely
Weekend at the Campus pitches in via Buscaja in Varese for the fourth Talamoni Memorial. The next June 22nd and 23rdL’Paul’s Friends Association, founded by friends of Paolo, who died at 18 from an incurable disease, it meets up with “pitch” enthusiasts for two days of play, friendship and fun in Paolo’s name.
On the “play ground” of Masnago, on the pitches of the Varese Campus, 20 teams made up of 5 members each will compete in the classic 4 against four with the “pitch” rules.
Registrations are closed, groups have been set: there will be no shortage of surprises and welcome returns. As has been the case for some years, twinning with the Memorial Fabio Aletti to whom the 3-point shooting challenge is dedicated.
Music and a refreshment area entrusted to the local Prins Willem of Barasso will complete the program of an event that also aims to be beneficial: part of the sum raised will be donated to charity.
During the tournament, a collaboration will be launched between the Paul’s Friends association and Brand @brandnewshoes_again, a project that aims to raise awareness of the environmental impact through the restoration and cleaning of a normal pair of shoes. Over the two days, shoes in good condition that are no longer used are collected to donate them to associations and organizations already present in the area.
The collected shoes are subjected to careful cleaning and restoration to bring them back to optimal conditions; once regenerated, the shoes are distributed through local or territorial associations that deal with educational and sporting initiatives.
The goal of Brand New Shoes Again is not just to distribute footwear to those in need, but to ensure that the shoes distributed are suitable for the activities for which they are intended: running shoes for running, basketball shoes for playing basketball, and sneakers for everyday life.
Appointment on Saturday 22 June from 5pm to 10pm and Sunday from 5pm to 9.30pm. In case of rain the bullfight will move to the Robur et Fides sports center in Via Marzorati 14, also Varese.
An opportunity to have fun, meet up and remember a dear friend, one of the protagonists of many afternoons on the pitch.
