The new Enjoy Como tells of a secret lake

The issue of “Enjoy Como” coming out tomorrow (3.30 euros + the price of the newspaper) takes us to look at the lake with different eyes. Not only because the magazine, entirely translated into English, focuses the spotlight on emerging tourism trends. Readers, in fact, are accompanied, with images and narrations, to places not so well known to the general public, which has now elected Lake Como (English style) as a most charming destination for holidays, but also charming events (fashion, weddings, ceremonies).

The cover story, signed by Serena Brivio and photographed by Giovanni Granzella, takes you to Villa Bonomi, owned by the flower designer Vincenzo Dascanio, to spend a day in the well-kept park designed by Piero Porcinai, where the model Jana Zapletalova plays a guest of refined elegance, in dresses by Brunello Cucinelli and Tory Burch.

We then talk about the trends of the moment: the romantic escape (or “elopement”) on the lake and the cooking lessons with great chefs who delight the palates of international guests. We then go in search of the hidden, sandy or stony “beaches” of the lake, to land in Torno, to listen to the writer Corrado Occhipinti Confalonieri, who introduces stories and legends with a high level of suspense. Adrenaline pumping on a hang glider, taking flight from Mount Berlinghera.

For the first time, golf enthusiasts can count on an offer that goes beyond the game, in 11 locations, even outside the province, and creates experience packages made up of the lake, sports and trips. We take the aperitif in Valtellina, on the Ponte nel cielo in Tartano. Or at the Teatro Sociale of Como, which organizes guided tours to discover its treasures, such as the “Velario”.

Anyone who wants to experience art tourism can find Action Painting this year at Villa Bernasconi in Cernobbio. From there you can start again with a tour in vintage cars along spectacular itineraries, suggested by Enrico Gelpi, president of Aci Como.

Those who prefer cycling can move to the “other branch” of the lake, testing themselves on the Leonardesque itinerary, along the Adda river, up to the Naviglio della Martesana, in Milan. For families with children and teenagers, worth mentioning is the educational farm where donkeys are the superstars or the Pian di Spagna and Lago di Mezzola Reserve, ideal for birdwatching. Photographic tours, in places from “Dolce Vita” with Petra Barathova or in the Cathedral, in the lights of wonders, which seem to animate even the statues. And, as a souvenir, the tie or pocket square made in collaboration with the tailor.
