Non-repayable contributions to supplement the heat account: the Lombardy Region will commit 23 million euros for the replacement of obsolete heating systems with innovative biomass systems.

The aim is to improve air quality and reduce particulate emissions

The second tender from the Lombardy Region has been approved for the replacement of the most polluting civil heating systems with
low-emission biomass plants.
With a budget of 23 million euros (intended for individuals, condominiums and SMEs) the objective is to encourage the renewal of obsolete heating systems to switch to more sustainable heating.

With this initiative, the Lombardy Region wanted to give concrete support to combat energy poverty, especially in mountain areas, the ones most affected by the problem, both due to obvious climate issues and the lack of energy infrastructures, just think of the absence of the energy network gas in some mountain municipalities.

Each natural person can apply for a contribution for the replacement of multiple systems, up to a maximum of 5 systems.
All those who have made the investment and requested the thermal account starting from 30 November 2021 can access the application.
The opening of the tender will take place by 10 September 2024, while the closing date of the tender will be 15 September
2025, unless available resources are previously exhausted.

The non-repayable contribution is in addition to the contribution recognized by the Thermal Account for the same intervention, until the eligible costs are covered.
