The newly elected Maremma mayors received by the prefect Berardino

The newly elected mayors were received yesterday by the prefect Paola Berardino. During the meeting, the desire to intensify moments of discussion and opportunities for collaboration was underlined, encouraging coordinated actions to consolidate the institutional network between the different levels of government, as well as to address and give synergistic responses to the increasingly complex issues arising from different territorial contexts. Full agreement was expressed on the importance of the projects connected to the funds of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr) and on the need for careful monitoring of their implementation, through the activity of the coordination cabin recently established in the Prefecture.

“I would like to congratulate the newly elected mayors – said the prefect – and wish them all a good performance of the institutional mandate in their respective territories. In facing the challenges that await us, the alliance between government and territories is decisive, in which mayors play a strategic role, with the responsibility of direct and immediate contact with the needs of communities. Societies and cities are changing and this requires shared interventions to ensure services to citizens and guarantee the common good, with the objective to push for progress and help reduce gaps and distances”.
