Arezzo, a summer of music with Proxima Music’s singing and instrument courses

A summer of music with Proxima Music’s singing and instrument courses. The traditional teaching year will end with the five evenings of concerts of the Proxima Live series scheduled until Friday 21 June, but the city music school has chosen to exceptionally follow up its activity also in the months of July and August with the provision of cycles of personalized lessons according to the needs of each individual student. The formula studied by the teachers will in fact provide full flexibility in structuring the individual courses according to work commitments and holidays, thus offering the possibility of exploiting the summer season to experience a first approach to the world of music and to begin an artistic journey in a period more free from commitments. The lessons will be hosted by the Proxima Music headquarters in via Redi and will concern both the classical music department and the contemporary music department with the teaching of singing and the various string, wind, keyboard, percussion and electric instruments.

The Arezzo school, in the meantime, has taken stock of a record year in terms of courses activated and people involved. From September 2023 to June 2024, in fact, the classrooms of Proxima Music hosted a total of one hundred and fifty-three students of different ages who attended the school for approximately three thousand seven hundred hours of lessons and who were mainly engaged in piano, guitar and modern singing classes , with growth also recorded in instruments such as drums, violin, cello and flute. 53% of the students are aged between seven and fourteen, demonstrating the choice of many families to opt for a musical education capable of bringing benefits to growth in terms of creativity, reasoning, memory, concentration, coordination, expression and management of emotions, then the second most represented group with 16% includes young people between fifteen and nineteen who have also been involved in group projects such as the Proxima Band Lab aimed at training new modern music groups. A further 13% concerns adults over thirty who have testified how it is possible to learn to play or enhance the potential of the voice at any age. Finally, good results were achieved by the “Musitiamo” laboratory to bring children between the ages of three and six years in the world of music and sounds through specific experiential paths. «The closing of such a positive year in terms of numbers and involvement of citizens – explains Alessandro Bertolino, director of Proxima Music, – provided the opportunity to draw up a report to tell “who” chooses to make music in Arezzo and “which” path they take. The desire is now to continue this path also in the summer through the availability of our teachers which will allow us to continue our commitment to musical education and training without stopping».
