This is the immediate comment of the General Secretary of the CGIL of Salerno Antonio Apadula after the approval of the differentiated autonomy which became law with 172 votes in favour, 99 against and 1 abstention.
«If this is the way to verify the potential of Southern Italy on the field, we will not disappoint them. They will find us here, where we have always been and where we will remain until this wicked decision is sent to the senders. They believe they are right. They are convinced that they have the majority of the country with them, but they forget history. They totally ignore it.
They talk about building bridges while splitting Italy. They talk about increasing jobs, while approving laws that undermine the dignity of workers’ rights. They shout slogans that have God, Homeland and family in their incipit and, at the same time, fragment the country, trampling on the blood of those who united it. They control and combat immigration, but they don’t care about the thousands of young people forced to abandon Italy in order to work and have a future.
This government is a disaster. The banquets are already ready for the referendum to repeal this unprecedented betrayal. The Constitution cannot be touched” – concludes Apadula.
