The Customs Agency and the financial police of L’Aquila seized 12 thousand liters of diesel in the L’Aquila area, contained in the tank of a distributor, which did not comply with the release for consumption in relation to the so-called flash point. As stated in a note, “the flash point of diesel must not be lower than 55°C in order to minimize the risk of the formation of flammable mixtures in storage depots, as well as to be in line with the relevant European regulations to the transport of the product in tankers”.

To guarantee the timeliness of the control, the support of the mobile chemical laboratory in Rome was also used, whose analyzes made it possible to immediately determine the fiscal specifications and the product and environmental characteristics of the product taken. Therefore, the 2 legal representatives of the companies involved were referred for the crime of fraud in the exercise of trade. In their checks on the territory, the yellow flames and officials of the Customs Agency proceeded with a sampling of the automotive diesel stored in all the roadside distributors checked, through a rapid sampling of the hydrocarbon present in the tank aimed at ascertaining its flash point .
