Sunday 16 June saw the “Falcone Borsellino” seafront as the setting for the interregional Kickboxing tournament “Summer championship”
The event which saw the participation of 12 sports clubs from Calabria, Sicily, Basilicata and Puglia, hosted 25 matches including 4 performances by the little ones, 18 light contact matches and 3 full contact matches.
The evening full contact matches saw the victory of Marco Tornese of the Lamezia Fight club of M. Miceli over Domma Roberto of the Kombat team Cosenza of M. Iannuzzi in the -75 kg K1 3 series category.
The second match saw the Fight club triumph again in the heavyweight category with Calimeri Roberto over Ikiseh David of Kobrateam Conca d’oro del M. Portaro (Sicily).
To close the evening the beautiful Low Kick first series match between Talarico Maria Teresa of the Cobra Team Cosenza of M. Massarini and Mazzola Martina of the Conca d’oro team.
The match saw Talarico dominate the first two rounds and with an excellent job of dodging and returning she managed to make up for the height difference with her opponent. The third round was won by Mazzola who however was unable to reverse the trend of the match thus won by M. Massarini’s student.

De Sando, organizer and promoter of the event, says he is satisfied with the second edition of this event as it has taken on an interregional character by widening its borders to neighboring regions. Coach Cerminara declares that he is satisfied with the performances of the athletes who worked hard to be prepared for the occasion.
