He is also an honorary citizen of Naples, where he directed the Institut Françaisè translator of the works of Elsa Morante, Umberto Eco, Alberto Savinio, Italo Svevo, Leonardo Sciascia, and made the works of Anna Maria Ortese, Fabrizia Ramondino, Elena Ferrante known in France.
