The agreement was signed by the Mayor Angelantonio Angarano and the Prosecutor Ferruccio De Salvatore, in the presence of Roberta Rigante, councilor for social policies, Andrea Foti, manager of the Social and Educational Services Division, Michele Dell’Olio, manager of the Local Police Division, Elisabetta Mastrototaro, city councilor and president of the inclusion and social protection commission, and Luigi Cosmai, city councilor and special council president for urban safety.
The objective of the protocol is to consolidate the protection of minors residing or traced within Bisceglie, through the establishment of an operational unit coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Juvenile Court of Bari. This unit will be responsible for carrying out investigations judicial police and civilians in the municipal territory, relating to phenomena of abuse-maltreatment, deviance, evasion from compulsory schooling, which require urgent checks and interventions.
The Municipality of Bisceglie undertakes to make available one or more officers of the Local Police and social workers of the Professional Social Service who will be part of the PIM Operational Unit. This staff will be responsible for carrying out judicial and civil police activities, interfacing with local services and guaranteeing the confidentiality of the information acquired.
