There seventh art takes arenas and outdoor spaces on hot summer nights. Return the cinema under the stars in Florence and in the major holiday resorts. The latest films competing on the night of the festival are scheduled Oscar or for the Donatello’s David hey great classics of world cinema.
The summer arenas for those in Florence
There are many confirmations among them summer arenas in Florence: a reality where the projector is always in action when the thermometer column begins to rise. In Oltrarno there is the Moonlight which has already restarted a few days ago and will be able to count on the presence of great actors at the screenings.
“Exterior Night” al Poggetto is another fixed event, which has just started again, for the Northern Florence area. In the area there is also thesummer arena of the cinema of Castle which reopened on June 14th. At the Tobacco Manufacturing everything is ready for the restart (starting from June 25th) with film screenings included in a rather rich program of events.
Then there are the courtyard of Saint Ursula which reopens on July 1st, theArena of Mars and the Pocket Cinema for the squares of Florence from 15 July, Open cinema at the Uffizi from June 25th and garden of Villa Bardini. Many are still missing but it’s only a matter of a few weeks, if not days.
Outside Florence, a point of reference for evenings in front of the big screen are thesummer arena of the cinema Cave in Sesto Fiorentinocinema in Roman Theater of Fiesole starting from August 5th e Opencine – Open-air cinema in Scandicci from 18 July.
The arthouse cinema in the Fortezza Vecchia in Livorno
Arthouse cinema arrives in Fortezza Vecchia in Livorno. Among this year’s events we note the presence of Pilar Fogliati on July 22nd for the screening of his film “Romantics”. Cinema under the stars with “RedRocket” by this year’s Palme d’Or winner, Sean Baker.
The summer arena at Villa Baldi Papini in Pistoia
The summer season starts again in Pistoia. Starting from Wednesday 26 June in the outdoor space between Villa Baldi Papini and the Roncalli school (access from via delle Pentole 4, Porta al Borgo side). Screenings until September. The program, edited by Mabuse Cinemais in collaboration with the Municipality of Pistoia.

Film under the stars in the Concette park in Pisa
From Monday 24 June the summer open-air cinema season starts again at Concette Park in Pisa. A program that will continue until September 1st including the season’s great successes, animated films for the little ones, cult films from the past in original versions, previews and many events. The event takes place with Alfea Cinematografica.
The first appointment is from June 24th with Pisa Chinese Film Festival. The Parco delle Concette Summer Cinema is located in the Piazza San Silvestro/Piazza Serantini area. Screenings start from 8.45pm. There will be a bar in the area. For complete programming and tickets.
Open-air cinema at Villa Gennaioli in Anghiari
Cinema in Anghiari, in the park of Villa Gennaioli. 14 events under the stars are scheduled: screenings also in English. The first appointment on Wednesday 19 June at 9.30 pm with the film “I am Captain” by Matteo Garrone. Followed by comedies and animated films also for the little ones. Grand finale on Sunday 21 July with the comedy “Mischief at Home“.
Summer arena at the former Cavallerizza in Lucca
Due to the redevelopment works of Villa Bottini, the 43rd edition of Estate Cinema in Lucca moves to Piazzale San Donato, outside theformer Horsewoman. The space, already used in the past for numerous events, will be delimited and fenced and the entrance with the ticket office, the bar and bathrooms, the giant screen and seats for spectators will be set up.
