DIFFERENTIATED AUTONOMY, PRESIDENT FONTANA: TODAY THE CONSTITUTION WON, LOMBARDY WILL RUN FASTER AND BE EVEN MORE COMPETITIVE

(mi-lorenteggio.com) Milan, 19 June 2024 – “Lombardy will run faster thanks to differentiated autonomy and for this I thank Parliament and Minister Calderoli who was able to unblock the situation”. The president of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, said this, commenting, in a press point at Palazzo Lombardia, on the definitive approval of the Law on Differentiated Autonomy by the Chamber.

“Today – highlighted Fontana – the Constitution which provides for the application of differentiated autonomy has won. Italy won and will become a more modern and efficient country. Whoever resisted years of lies and infamy won. Lombardy won and will become even more competitive at a European and global level and even more capable of responding to the needs of Lombardy and the challenges of the future. On the matters within our competence we will be able to create procedures that will simplify the lives of citizens, businesses and workers”.

“Health and the environment will be the two main skills on which we will focus our action in negotiations with the central government, in the knowledge that these fundamental matters will have practical implications for the people of Lombardy, who will have the opportunity to measure the concreteness of the provision”.

“The process will be gradual – Fontana specified – for an organizational question. Let’s start with health and the environment for which there are already important provisions in state legislation regarding essential levels of performance”.

“Lombardy is ready – underlined the regional undersecretary to the presidency with responsibility for Autonomy, Mauro Piazza – and has done its homework. We will bring the expected requests to obtain greater powers and the simplification of procedural and bureaucratic aspects which will have direct impacts on the quality of life of Lombardy people. We will do everything with the maximum sharing of local authorities.”
