Fdi Lombardia: wild boar crisis resulting from underestimation of the environmentalist left

“The phenomenon of damage from wild boars and wildlife has been an issue that has long been paid attention to by the Lombardy Region and which is causing considerable damage, the result of ineffective and non-existent management in recent years”. This is supported by the regional councilor of Fratelli d’Italia Carlo Bravo, vice-president of the Agriculture commission, yesterday on the day of the Coldiretti protest in Piazza Duca d’Aosta in Milan against the damage caused by wild boars in the Lombard countryside. “Significant resources have been invested by the Lombardy Region – says Bravo -, a sign of the importance and attention given to this problem by the councilor Alessandro Beduschi but which, given the continuous increase in these animals and the damage caused by them provoked, must be accompanied by a clear change of pace in the approach to this problem that involves all interested parties”.

For the councillor, “the requests brought forward in the demonstration by the Coldiretti association, aimed not only at protecting our farmers and their economy, but also at guaranteeing Lombard citizens more safety on the roads, preventing the numerous accidents, including fatal ones, which occur in our territory, and finally to prevent and resolve the increasingly widespread health emergencies, such as African swine fever, are fully shared”. And he adds: “The Lombardy Region has already implemented all the tools envisaged by the National Extraordinary Plan for some time, anticipating the times given the situation due to the entry of the PSA into the province of Pavia”. For the councilor, “it is sad to underline that those who, like the councilors of the Democratic Party, until yesterday, in order to criticize Lombardy, praised the ‘Emilia model’, are now silent, faced with the spread of positive wild boars precisely in that region, where they are produced , with Lombard pigs, Parma ham. Evidently the problem goes far beyond regional borders; by politically exploiting them in the streets they will certainly not contribute to resolving the situation.”
