The festival week ends in Bari “Of the Story, the Film – DRIFFest 2024” (XV edition). A return to the capital after two years of absence on 20 June at 7.30 pm in Largo Vito Maurogiovanni, will bring the appointment “Of the Story, reality (not fiction)“, in collaboration with Free Puglia. At the beginning, the presentation of “The flock” (Alter Ego) by the Foggia writer Davide Grittani, in comparison with the teacher Toni De Mario. A highly successful novel that mercilessly reveals the void of values that allowed the “ultranull” to climb every form of power, a bitter comedy that recounts tics, paranoia and aberrations of electoral campaigns, yesterday nostalgic body-to-body based mostly on transformism and today social blackmail inspired by the precariousness of our times.
Afterwards, the festival will open a window on the Apulian situation between politics and anti-mafia with Don Angelo CassanoLibera’s regional representative, and with the jurist Nicola Colaianni. In closing, the film Spoiler alert by Michael Showalter, a happily sad rom-com that mixes love and illness with the protagonist of the series The Big Bang TheoryJim Parsons.
“Of the Story, the Film”, organized by the Cooperativa Sociale I Bambini di Truffaut, with the artistic direction of Giancarlo Visitilli, from 11 June to 27 July it unfolds through 27 events between Bari, Giovinazzo, Sannicandro di Bari and Mola di Bari, with four meetings in the prisons (it is the only Apulian festival to host it every year) of Trani and Turi.
This edition is supported by the Puglia Region, by the Apulia Film Commission, by the Municipalities of Bari, Giovinazzo, Mola di Bari, Sannicandro di Bari, Trani and Turi Prisons, by the office Guarantor of the rights of people subjected to measures restricting personal freedom.
