CIVITAVECCHIA – Today will be a very important day for over 800 boys and girls from Civitavecchia. The morning of the exam has arrived, after sleepless nights, or almost sleepless, we are now here thinking about this fundamental goal, we will sit between the desks to close one chapter of our lives and start another.

There are seven different tracks established by the Ministry of Education and Merit and they will have to complete the essay (the “theme”) in six hours. The first test is just the beginning of a journey that will see them busy in the following days too.

There second test of tomorrow concerns one or more of the disciplines that characterize the course of study. In the new professional institutes, however, the test focuses on fundamental skills and thematic areas and not on specific disciplines. The Ministry, with a specific decree, defined the disciplines covered by this second test. For professional institutes, the second test is not centered on the disciplines but on the skills needed and on the fundamental thematic areas of direction. It is a single integrated test in which the Ministry provides the “general national frame of reference” and the commissions build the tracks by declining the ministerial indications according to the specific training path activated by the school. Starting from next Monday, off to the multidisciplinary interview, the oral. Here the children will have to demonstrate not only that they have assimilated the knowledge acquired during the year, but also that they know how to connect and apply it in a critical and personal way.

For these boys and girls, graduation marks a fundamental break in life. It’s the moment when their commitment is recognized, opening the doors to new opportunities. Whether they continue their university studies, enter the world of work, or choose other paths, this step will remain imprinted in their memory as one of the most significant moments of their personal growth.

The path to maturity is a journey made of effort, commitment, but also of discoveries and satisfactions.

Today, when the students of Civitavecchia find themselves in front of their protocol sheet, they will take with them not only the knowledge acquired, but also the dreams, hopes and aspirations that will accompany them into their future. It’s a day that marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, full of promise and possibility.

There are 812 kids in total, 132 of which are for Stendhal (plus 17 from the prison sections), 97 at Calamatta and 210 at Guglielmotti.
