The regional decree has been published which starts the assignment of “fodder vouchers” for Sicilian farmers and the formation of a supplier register. After approval by the Ars Productive Activities Commission, we now move on to the implementation phase of the measure desired by the president of the Sicilian Region Renato Schifani, which allocates 10 million euros to deal with the damage caused to the sector by water shortages.
The contribution will be paid, until the resources are exhausted, through the issue of a “voucher” that can be used for the purchase of fodder from suppliers identified by the Region and included in a special register. For access to the economic benefit, the criteria of proportionality with respect to the damage suffered by the breeding enterprises will be taken into account.
Applications must be submitted by July 3rd exclusively through the Agricultural Assistance Centers (CAA) to which they belong which, within the following 10 days, will send the requests to the Agriculture Department. Farmers will then be able to collect the product at the Dittaino industrial area (Enna) or another point that will be defined after consulting the professional trade organisations.
To request to be included in the register of fodder suppliers, however, it is necessary to fill in the form attached to the announcement and send it via certified email, starting tomorrow and by June 26th, to the address [email protected]. sicilia.it.
